you know, a lot of bit kind of low and unenthusiastic this morning. It’s Thursday, so I’ve been on the road for a whole week now. It’s hard to believe it’s just flown by. I’ve seen so much. When I set off from Rotterdam, I was worried about not actually making it to Stockholm in time for the wedding. But actually, by the time I got into Sweden, I still had 8 days left to get up to Stockholm. So, with that in mind, I decided to go up the West Coast, up to Goththingberg, then continue eastwards to Stockholm. As any mountaineer can tell you, there’s a huge trade-off between fast and light or slow and wellprepared. I had opted for fast and light, but it meant I basically had no kit with me. Very few extra clothes, very few warm clothes, and I was finding the further north I went, the colder I was getting. I already had to buy a sleeping bag liner as I went through Copenhagen. But every day when I packed my stuff up and set off, it felt like a huge struggle. And out on the west coast of Sweden, the wind just seemed to be blowing straight through me.
