2025 Trek Checkpoint SL7:
Size: Large
Colour: Bronze Age/Carbon Smoke Matte

Had this checkpoint for a little while now, absolutely loving it! It’s extremely comfortable and super versatile, I’ve raced this bike in the Devils Cardigan gravel race and done plenty of local gravel rides mostly with high elevation gain!

Pros:
• Super comfortable frame (the isospeed works)
• plenty of frame storage and plenty of mountain points for bags.
• 50mm tyre clearance and room for more.
• Excellent geometry
• Wheels feel stout but also fast.
• Super comfy handle bars.

Cons:
• Slightly heavier than comparable brands, I would guess to do with the isospeed and large frame storage.
• came specced with the previous gen SRAM but I’m not fussed with that too much.
• For some people there might not be enough gearing (I changed my front chainring to a 38T)

Swapped out the tyres from the stock 42mm to the Trek Bettaso 50mm (absolutely love them, super grippy and durable)

Can highly recommend this bike, it’s fast, versatile and a great bike that could be bike packed, road ridden or a bit of both.

Any questions about my set up or anything feel free to ask! 🙂

  1. I’ve been eyeing this exact bike for months now, but I’m a bit weary of the color combination, although I haven’t seen it in person. I know it’s completely subjective, but what’s your take on it?

  2. I have this bike in this exact color. Love it.

I went to a 42T ring when I added a power meter. Florida flats.

I recently put Schwalbe RX Pro 45mm after riding stock Gina’s for a year. I noticed a nice speed and stability difference.

  3. I have the SL6 Checkpoint. Not happy with the stock tires. Feel like they are slowing me down. Might get the Schwalbe G-one RS. I mostly ride on rail trails in Pa.
