Trans Pennine Trail Part 3 Barnsley to Saltmarshe

Part 3 of my ride on the Trans Pennine trail.

welcome to another transparan Trail video uh we’re in barnesley or I’m in barnesley and we’re going to be heading east uh as long as you don’t get lost seriously this is like take 20 something or other I’m half asleep [Music] we’re on a nice straight bit of road and it is road so this first nearly 10 Mi uh it’s been pretty flat and uh it’s mix of concrete and sh so very easy on the tires um no real Trail as uh as such so far but I don’t know that much about this section of the uh of the penine trail um but so far it’s very different from uh from the other side of the penine I’m stopping here for a second cuz we got uh slightly lost but um I met a lovely man who would not stop talking uh for about 20 minutes with a little Yorkshire Terrier in a basket on the front of his bike anyway he’s put me back in the right direction and uh I see some signs [Music] there that bit where we find that we’re still on the trail and there’s an ice cream truck okay that looks like it used to be a signpost I’ve come from there but do I go that way or that way well sometimes things go wrong and that went horribly wrong somewhere I don’t know the science for sby disappeared and I got stuck in a weird Loop Round a roads in a place called Red House red car red house I think Cy I almost have lost an hour I think i’ I’m about 15 miles out of the way um but I’m at a done Crossroads and look a sign he [Music] [Music] this is a very weird Trail um out in the middle of nowhere now as you can see um and yeah a lot of it has been more like roads more than anything else but um well there’s also some people those are the first people I’ve seen in hours what are they doing here it’s nothing here so weird okay so I said there’s nothing here there isn’t an awful lot but I don’t know if you can make out behind me a gliders it’s the burn gliders club which sounds like a very bad name for a glider Club but anyway perfect place for it cuz there’s s all else here [Music] okay I’ve just come through Selby um we are about 60 mi into a 55 M bike ride so make of that what you will and I think we’ve got about another 15 miles to go heading to how [Music] proof that we are still on the trail there we go [Music] okay we are into what I think is the last mile God uh I think we’re going to clock 73 miles which is definitely a lot more than I thought um I’m guessing that a combination of yeah getting lost although that only threw me out about 5 miles the rest is uh well the map was wrong clearly bloody Maps welcome to salt marsh train station I am the only one here there is nothing here like the rest of the places things NE in the woods but um that’s it we’re done uh barnesley to salt marsh what I thought was going to be 55 miles turned into 73 and a bit um but it’s done now the train is coming in oh what should stop working 3 minutes I cannot wait to sit down I’m going to be walking like John Wayne for a good week but um I think I enjoyed it now that I’ve done it yeah trans fin Night Trail always throws up surprises [Music]
