Hey guys, so I was planning on buying a 2024 Trek Rail 7 Gen 3 with only 1500km done that looks like it is in pristine condition, but I saw an ad for a 2023 Trek Rail 9.7 gen 4 for exactly the same price – However the Rail 9.7 has 4100km on it.
I am new to Ebikes – I’m a student and will mainly use it commuting around university and then on weekends I’ll take it out on trails when I’m not using my hardtail.
I know the 9.7 has the Carbon frame, it also seems to be in good condition, however I don’t know what difference the 4100km vs 1500km will have – is there a point at which the batteries/motors start giving in?
Any advice on which one I should purchase would be greatly appreciated.
The first pictures are of the 9.7 and the second of the 7.
