this is what it’s like to solo backpack in the dark I decided to start a hike at 7 30 at night after work I booked it to the trailhead so I could wake up at a lake I’ve never been to I started questioning my life decisions after the second hour of hiking in pitch black but the days are getting shorter and PTO is limited luckily a bear didn’t mistake me for a burrito and in the morning I could see there was no one else camped here so yay to pushing Comfort zones

  1. Always pack a firearm. Never go off into the woods alone. Especially a young lady. But young ladies are the ones who never.think evil exists and never plan for it. But evil exists and monsters are.real. every young lady who wants ro go off into the woods alone need to read about the Norris-Bitaker murders. Pack a 9mm with 2 spare loaded magazines. A large sharp field knife, and a sturdy folder as a backup.

  2. planning my first ever solo backpacking trip tomorrow and this video is just what i needed to see to make me feel brave and stop coming up with excuses for why i shouldn't go!

  3. We all had to go through stuff like this to survive, and it's just so emotional for me to see another young person affected by everybody's collective failure, after a lifetime of trying to ensure that I'd be the only victim. Why can't everything be perfect, like some Korean people's hair?

  4. Plan to go on hiking/camping this weekend which will take 7+hrs hike (both ways). First time ever camping in US and first time ever solo camping. If you can do it, I can do it! (just me hyping myself up despite the scares I got)

  5. Many people have become passionate about spending time, camping or climbing in isolated places. I only hope that content creators who do these activities warn viewers to take safety precautions and learn the basics of dealing with any situation that may accure

  6. I’m curious. How many young women per year are murdered when they’re doing a solo hike in the wilderness? It seems like a pretty foolish thing to do. I feel like some predator will see your post, then use it to find and harm you.

  7. How about bears or mountain lions? In such a wild location they should be there as well? What do you have for safety? I love the same things but always scared when l am only the one around.

  8. if unnecessary?
i don't hike in the dark unless it's just before sunrise.
    why?
it's an injury waiting to happen….in the dark. without camp set up.
this is "see how stupid i am?"
