I’ve seen plenty of people really happy with that bike. If that’s what your heart is set on, that’s probably a good choice for a first bike.
If you’re not already bought in, you could consider checking out Canyon or Lauf. Might be able to get a little more bang for your buck.

I picked mine up 3 months ago and am in love. Haven’t used it on gravel yet, but it’s made my regular commute a blessing and casual rides are a dream. For comparison: bought at $2,850 (employee deal: $1,325)
