this island might be the best kept secret of the Mediterranean Sea are you ready to discover the paradise of Europe [Music] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] welcome to Corsica a beautiful island in the Mediterranean Sea in this video I will take you on my 10day tour around this diverse part of France from picturesque Villages and the impressive mountain landscape to white sandy beaches Corsica offers it all there are several ways to travel to Corsica by ferry there are many departure points in France and Italy I boarded the ferry in tulone after an overnight journey of approximately 12 hours I arrived in bostia on the northeastern side of the Island from this city I had North to explore the capc course Peninsula capc course is known for its impressive Coastline with steep Cliffs hidden bays and expansive beaches first I visit the old fishing Village of erbalunga this Village is known for its old Harbor which has been in use since the Middle Ages and played an important role in the local economy the narrow old streets and Charming houses give the village a unique character the most remarkable building on the coast is an old Watchtower from the 16th century this Tower was built to protect the Village from attacks by Pirates and other Invaders the tower is constructed in the typical genoise Style with thick walls in a round shape the continuation of the coastal route offers many spectacular views of the Azure sea and rugged Coastline along the coast there are also various attractions such as statues and many old watchtowers the route continuously offers a different perspective on the beautiful peninsula [Music] from the northern Port Town of Masano you can take a walk to one of the most remarkable old watchtowers of cap course the 10 km circular walk takes you through forests along Cliffs and past Beach Bays just off the coast are three smaller Islands one also with an Old [Music] Tower the sight of the old Santa Maria Chapel indicates that you are almost at the tower unfortunately this Chapel is not accessible and is no longer in use in the distance you can see the distinctive Tower standing almost entirely in the water especially at high tide on the way back you will notice that in addition to the towers other fortifications are situated along the coast including a cannon that was meant to protect the [Music] bay I continue my journey to the western coastline where I come across the cap course Mulan mate along the way this Mill built at the end of the 18th century has not been used since it was struck by lightning in 1836 [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] am [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] nanza is perhaps the most remarkable Village in capc course situated on a steep Cliff it offers spectacular views both When approaching and from within the village itself the square Tower of nanza distinct from all other Towers completes the picture and makes a visit to this Village a must but even the church built in the 16th century and dedicated to St Julia of Corsica is also a mustsee when visiting this [Music] Village I end the first day and thus my visit to cap course in the town of s Florent on the southwest side of the peninsula here you find the Citadel which was built in 1440 not an Old Tower in this town but a real fort [Music] [Music] on the way to the town of Calvi on the North Coast I drive through a breathtaking landscape as you could see my first stop is the beach of lari where I take a short walk along the beach and Rocky coast and climb to the nearby lookout tower [Music] the ruins of this Tower can be visited via a staircase and the view from this point is very beautiful the coast and the mountainous landscape in the background create a stunning contrast [Music] on the rocks of Petra off the coast of the village Leo Ro stands the lighthouse to La Pietra built in 1857 from the village the islands can be reached via a bridge and there is a path leading to the lighthouse and the old Watchtower besides these remarkable islands with beautiful views this Village has even more to offer it has various defensive structures and a 19th century Market Hall the old classic Market Hall is a special Monument almost daily different goods are sold here including traditional corsac [Music] Specialties from this beautiful town I continue driving Westward to Calvi I choose not to take the main coastal route but the higher Inland road to explore the countryside I immediately come across several beautiful Villages and a monastery and making a short stop in the village of PNA [Music] due to the high location of this small village it offers a stunning view of the surroundings this Village dates back to the Middle Ages and has become a center for art and crafts over the years there are Studios Galleries and craft shops [Music] the impressive city of Calvi is one of the most touristy cities on the island the history of this city goes back to Roman times and it is especially known for its medieval Citadel from the 13th century calie was an important stronghold for the genoes who ruled over Corsica during that time [Music] the impressive Fortress built in the 13th century still dominates the city skyline in addition to the beautiful narrow streets it also offers a fantastic view over the city and the bay [Applause] [Music] [Music] from the coast I moved to the mountain area near calie for a short hike along the way I stopped to enjoy the beautiful view [Music] the aurella hike is 5 km long with an elevation gain of 300 M part of the route runs along a small River and the second part goes through the mountains where views of the beautiful mountain range alternate with small waterfalls in good weather this hike is perfect to combine with a dip in one of the many pools [Music] [Music] [Music] on the third day I started start with a challenging hike to the top of Monte Cino on the west coast of the island the starting point is near the village of Osan where a large parking area is located along the main road the hike is 6 km long and follows the same path for both the ascent and descent although the top of the mountain is relatively close the many steep climbs make the route take about 4 hours to complete [Music] [Music] the views along the way are breathtaking as the mountain is situated between the Gulf of girolata and the Gulf of Porto offering a stunning view over two bays and the scandola [Music] [Music] reserve heading South I drive along the beautiful coastal route d 81 this route offers breathtaking views and making a few stops along this stunning road is highly recommended the road runs along steep overhanging Cliffs where it’s important to watch out for oncoming traffic but this only adds to the spectacular nature of the [Music] journey the d81 leads to the Village of Porto a small village with fewer than 500 inhabitants its location along the river Porto with the pedestrian bridge over the river the beach and the dramatic Cliffs and mountains surrounding the village makes this destination a true pleasure to visit additionally there are various water activities available including boat trips and various Water Sports in this Village you will also find one of the old genoise Towers this Tower can be climbed for a small fee and the view it offers over the village with the mountainous landscape in the background provides a great moment to rest and enjoy this beautiful Island [Music] [Music] [Music] I end the day at the remarkable khank deila these spectacular red granite rock formations rising up to 400 m above the sea are part of the UNESCO world [Music] heritage the unique shapes of these Red Rocks combined with the sunset make this place an unforgettable experience [Music] another day another hike today I hike to a special viewpoint on the west coast near Pi namely the Watchtower on cap [Music] oaso with a total length of approximately 8. 5 km and an elevation gain of 500 M this is a fairly challenging [Music] walk the final climb to the tower is particularly strenuous you should allocate at least 3 to 4 hours for this hike depending on the number of breaks the turkia tower is one of the highest Towers along the corsac coast due to its location combined with its height this place offers an overwhelming panoramic view since I did the hike early in the morning I had this amazing place all to [Music] myself this hike is known as one of the most beautiful walks on the island and for good reason [Music] [Music] I leave the west side of the island and continue my route through the mountains towards the east coast via the d84 I make a small detour from this route to drive through the beautiful Mountain Village of Christina [Music] the continuation of the route takes me to the highest point of this mountain pass called deero which is located at an altitude of nearly 1,500 M this point is recognizable by the 6 M High statue of Christ the King which was placed on the call in 1984 [Music] in the middle of the mountain range there is a large Reservoir that was created after the construction of the dam in 1960 from this Lake Begins the spectacular Canyon de [Music] Luda this deep gorge was formed by the Goo River resulting in a narrow Ravine with steep walls a narrow winding Mountain Road leads leads you through the gorge and offers stunning views along the way [Music] [Music] [Music] in 1485 the Ora Monastery was founded which grew into an important Center for Spiritual activities over the centuries the monastery was repeatedly damaged and rebuilt during the French Revolution it was abandoned and fell into disrepair the ruins of this centuries old Monastery give a magical feeling when you visit [Music] the small picturesque Village of campi is situated on one of the many hilltops in the east of the island The Village has managed to retain its traditional charm and consists of a single street with a church dating from the 17th century at the end unfortunately as in many small Mountain Villages many houses are abandoned which could pose a threat to the preservation of these beautiful places in the future [Music] unfortunately this day ended with a lot of rain making it a good time to visit one of the islands’s oldest archaeological sites the city of Alyria was founded in the 6th Century BC by the Greeks and three centuries later it was taken over by the Romans during the Roman period a IA flourished and became the capital of the Roman province of Corsica ET Sardinia during the Roman period Alyria flourished and became the capital of the Roman province of Corsica and Sardinia the city provides a remarkable insight into life on Corsica thousands of years ago [Music] [Music] I head towards the south of the island where I visit the impressive mountain range agel daava Corsica consists of many mountains but in my opinion the most remarkable ones are found in this area the mountains are characterized by Jagged Peaks large rock walls and wind Twisted Pines [Music] in the heart of the Baba Massif are the seven towers of Asino some of which reach up to 1,800 M high from C de Bava I start my hike to admire the Peaks up close the route I walked is nearly 12 km long with an elevation gain of almost 1,000 m in about 4 hours you walk through this overwhelming environment alternating between rugged Peaks forests and panoramic [Music] views the hike can be described as difficult in some sections you will need to climb and use chains to navigate The Rock [Music] box the impressive surroundings of this area make this hike Unforgettable ranking it among the most beautiful hikes I have ever done [Music] after this breathtaking hike I rest on one of the many beaches of Corsica the beautiful Santa Julia Beach this beach located in the Bay of the same name has been voted one of the most beautiful beaches in France the horseshoe shaped Bay with shallow translucent water is a stunning place for a walk or enjoying a delightful Beach day [Music] [Music] in the middle of the beautiful Southern mountains lies the village of carbini a small picturesque Place built at the foot of a small Hilltop from this spot you have a stunning view over the village and the surrounding mountain range a remarkable building in the village is the Romanesque Church which dates back to the 12th century with its accompanying Bell Tower it is a symbol of medieval religious architecture in Corsica [Music] Bon fasio is one of the most enchanting cities on the Island located at the southernmost point and only 12 km away from the Italian Sardinia what makes this city special is its location at top the Limestone Cliffs that rise high above the Mediterranean [Music] Sea the iconic Citadel built in the 9th century Bears witness to a turbulent history full of battles and conquests this Fortress was of great strategic importance due to its location [Music] a remarkable part of the Citadel is the king Aragon steps this 187 step staircase is carved into the cliff and leads to the Sea according to Legend the steps were made in just one night by the troops of King Aragon in 1420 [Music] on the southern side of the Citadel there are various viewpoints over the coast these offer a stunning view of the coastline and a panoramic view of the Fortress [Music] I continue my journey nor North where I enjoy the beautiful views and picturesque Mountain Villages the routes you drive on this island are truly stunning at every moment there is so much to see that you almost constantly want to stop to enjoy the surroundings [Music] Corsica is also a great destination for a skiing holiday in the winter you can find several ski resorts here including gon this Resort is located at an altitude between, 16600 and 1900 M while it is deserted outside the season it becomes a lively place in winter [Music] however this place is also worth visiting outside the skiing season because the route to the resort is beautiful with lovely views in the spring the mountain peaks are still partly covered in snow creating a unique atmosphere [Music] okay [Music] a visit to Corsica is not complete without a visit to the Island’s capital A joio with a short stop at latala I arrive in this city the city was founded in 1492 and is the birthplace of Napoleon bonapart although it is the largest city on the island with its 70,000 inhabitants it still doesn’t feel large [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Music] [Music] I get back in the car to head to the starting point of the stunning Mountain Road D4 the village of mzo first I drive northward on the D [Music] one I find the narrow mountain past D4 to be one of the most beautiful routes on the island especially the route through the mountain mass is very impressive the narrow road combined with the breathtaking views makes this day complete [Music] [Music] in the northern mountains besides the mountain pass I previously drove you can enter the mountains at two more locations these two spots are not through routes but dead end paths [Music] first I visit the southern route that goes through Valley restonica then I hike from the valley to the higher Mountain Lake Lac dealu after a short drive through the valley you can no longer proceed by car and I continue on foot during the hike I discover why you can’t go any further a large portion of the road has been destroyed by natural forces Bridges have collapsed and large sections of the road have been Shattered by Falling Rocks because the majority of the journey must be made on foot the hike to the lake is [Music] long the total distance including the return trip is over 25 km fortunately at the end of the old Route there is a small abandoned village where one little bar is still open daily here you can get something to eat and drink [Music] from this point the more strenuous climb to the lake begins although the climb is challenging and you ascend almost 1 and 1/2 km in height the views along the entire route are fantastic once you arrive at the lake you are greeted by breathtaking natural beauty the lake surrounded by Rocky Mountains partially covered with snow makes the long journey worthwhile from this point you can choose to continue climbing to a second Lake [Music] however I decide to return via the same route and arrive back at the starting point after over 8 hours it was a tough long hike but also one of the most beautiful hikes on the island [Music] [Applause] [Music] at the beginning of this route lies the unique Village of Corte this Village is also known for its remarkable Fortress the city Del decorte this town briefly served as the capital during the short period in the 18th century when Corsica was an independent state The Citadel located on a steep Rock above the town offers a magnificent view of the town and the mountainous surroundings [Music] [Music] at the end of the day I start on the northernmost route unlike the southern route this one is still completely intact and takes you over a distance of 25 km to the ski resort OD ASCO the first half of the route goes through the beautiful Gorge to alasco which offers a stunning environment to drive through [Music] day 10 the last day of my road trip on this breathtaking Island from the picturesque ASCO I drive back to the starting point of my journey the port city of bastia along the final winding roads and mountain passes I encounter several beautiful Villages that stand out magnificently against the backdrop of the mountains [Music] from Bosa I take the ferry to lorno where I arrive after a 4-Hour Crossing and continue my way home with that I have reached the end of this trip this island has greatly surprised me with its unspoiled nature and impressive Fortress towns whether you drive through narrow mountain passes hike on one of the many mountain routes or explore historic towns Corsica offers an unparalleled experience [Music] don’t forget to like And subscribe for more Adventures thanks for watching and see you soon

Is it expensive to lodge in corsica?
Frankly, I do not see much life now as y[u are doing this video.
12:57 How lovely does this place look ! Without those copy and paste skyscrapers
Not going go live there nope
music is aweful
Based on the content I watched
France does not care about the island as if it were primitive
Why, since 1769, have the Corsicans tolerated the colonization of the island by France?
The Corsican people must learn the lessons of the Algerian revolution
France only kneels by force
Wow! I watch a lot of travel videos while I’m on my treadmill and this is top notch! I’ll be subscribing to see more. ❤
This is one of the best documentaries I’ve seen. Just subscribed.
So obviously AI reading the script. No human speaks so dispassionately about a trip like this !
Thank you for this great video which has a professional touch. The background music is also very well chosen. Thank you very much for this perfect work!
Somehow, I miss local people, interiors and local eats. Otherwise a perfect production. Thank you!
where did the people go?
Nature’s wonders never fail to amaze – these are truly the most beautiful places in the world! 😍🌿

La Corse mon pays je t aime…. Tu es la plus belle
Great. I was on the east coast of the island all the way to Bonifacio on a road trip in college around 1997. Unfortunately we didn't go to the center of the island to those fantastic mountains. The movie brought back distant memories for me 🙂
Beautiful video. We'd like to do a similar trip. Can you list the places you visited? It would help with travel planning.
❤️😍 Melted
The most beautiful island of the mediterranean

Les tours ne sont pas génoise, c'est une fausse appellation.
A 2mn50 ,c'est la tour de l'osse ,j'avais les chevres au-dessus
Wooooow ca a lair bien mon Ami?
great film work
no problem finding hotels to stay along the road trip? or were you in a camper?
This is an incredible video! It has been very helpful for me with planning my summer trip to Corsica. Regarding Figarella, could you please confirm if I have found the correct trail on Alltrails, it being named Ficaghjola loop?
Very Beautiful but its very Dangerous, Corisca is called the most unproductive people in Europe, and the lawless Island. We covered much of the Island , the most horrible drivers on the planet. Bad Roads, NO rules. Not to many good looking people at all! Mafia owned Corsica and Sardinia.
it is the plan for 2026…hope springs eternal…
Great scenery, stupid ass music wasn't needed
Nice video but you don’t print the village names. Even the CC could not determine some like PNA (which I had to research and discover the name is Pigna. Naming with a brief title on screen of the villages would have prevented my thumbs down
