Picked up this NOVARA TORREO to flip for a profit and I took off its stock 3×9 Shimano Alvio and put on a 1×10 deore kit i picked up from ebay. The chain didn't come with quick links but instead I had to push the pin in to connect the chain ( im assuming this is where i messed up ). Everything shifted smoothly in the stand but when I took it outside it was great for 10 min and when I did a test sprint the chain just snapped. Just wanna figure out what I did wrong or how I can prevent this in the future.

Quick link probably didnt have a secure connection.
Just buy a pair of quick links and put one on and the other in your trailside tool pouch
Connecting a chain by pushing a pin in is never going to be fully secure, because the pin isn’t riveted properly. I would be 99% sure that the chain failed at that point when you put pressure on it.
