Another big day in the saddle — this time from Mont-de-Marsan to Bordeaux 🇫🇷.
This ride was a mix of long, straight roads, flat terrain, and the buzz of finally approaching a major French city. After days of countryside and quiet villages, rolling into Bordeaux felt like a major achievement in the Gibraltar to UK journey.
Mentally, this was one of the tougher days — the scenery was repetitive, the fatigue was creeping in, and the body was still recovering from previous climbs and mileage. But sometimes it’s the boring, flat days that test your mindset the most.
📍 Route: Mont-de-Marsan → Bordeaux
📏 Distance: ~90 miles (145 km)
🛣️ Terrain: Flat, long roads with little shelter
🔥 Challenge: Mental endurance and saddle fatigue

This ride isn’t just about the miles — it’s about purpose, growth, and proving what’s possible with the right mindset.

Day five for me. I think we are going to Bordeaux. Uh I think it’s going to rain. Hopefully not. Looking forward to getting out there. 93 mi, 2,500 ft elevation, so not too bad. Ass is sore, but it’s all good. Doing it for the cause. Let’s go [Music] eventful morning puncture straight up out the gate. A little split in the tire. So I am now on a spare bike. And to be fair, it’s feeling a lot better than my own. Um, catch some Cannondale. We have averaged 19 miles an hour cuz we had to catch up with the group. They were 2 and 1 half miles ahead and we caught up and we overtook. Um, we are now in a place called Capito where we are about to stop for a coffee. Nice little French town. on the right. Little house. Funny little mouse. Um, [Music] [Applause] [Music] Lord [Music] Yeah. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] road down the side here. [Music] You are session. Yeah, probably. [Music] Huh? [Music] Oh, we are [Music] weary. [Music]
