Whittled a handful of bikes across different makers down to these two, specific models are KHEs Strikedown Pro Limited and Flybikes SION.

Anyone with any knowledge of these two makers or even these bikes specifically, would be much appreciated as I cannot make my mind up between those two models.

The SION looks sharp and clean in all black but the Strikedown looks equally as gorgeous in that grey with the AFFIX Rotor tidying up the front end.

Seriously torn here.

  1. Fly all the way. I got the Proton 2023 edition. As for KHE I feel like the quality control can be hit or miss. As a European, their parts ore really cheap and mostly decent, but given the small price difference, I’d go for the fly.
I’ce had KHE 8-spline cranks, they were good. The 48-spline cranks came with terrible welds. I’ve also had my fair share of Mac2+ tyres and one out of four was so damn warped it was impossible to get seated on the rim. Then again, those tyres cost me €13 a piece so no big deal, but worth mentioning. I also got a bottom bracket for them and had to get a refund as one of the bearings wasn’t perfectly round and wouldn’t fit my bb (on a brand new frame too…)

As for the fly, the trebol hubs on that thing are so damn smooth, the fuego tyres are high PSI which I like. It’s full crmo and everything’s sealed, comes with pegs and hubguards. An absolute beast straight out of the box. I only ever had issues wirh the chain on that bike, otherwise impeccable.

  2. I’d go for the KHE. Stuff will break quicker but part of the fun of BMX is buying new parts as and when you need them. It’s more rewarding than doing a full build with all the best parts imo

  3. Not remotely even comparable. Fly bikes are a way better bike and brand. However your issue is…. Fly have been having supply issues for 2-3 years now, there’s no guarantee even if they say it’s in stock that they’ve got it. Fulfilment times have been well into 8-9 months!
