The Bicycle Rave is a political demonstration for better cycling infrastructure in the city.
E-bikes, cargo bikes, car sharing, and e-scooters are revolutionizing our mobility. Trams and S-Bahn trains are as unreliable as ever, and finding a parking space is taking longer and longer. At the same time, life is getting more expensive – rent, energy, the Kölsch beer at the pub. Owning a car is becoming a luxury. Moreover, many Cologne residents want to be more active and live healthily. Climate change is also challenging us. Reducing emissions – we must tackle this together.
But while our lives evolve, Cologne’s cycle path network remains as it is. Old, crumbling cycle paths, unsafe intersections, and no space for bicycles – this is not what streets should look like today. It’s high time to change that.
