My first ever attempt at replacing forks has left me with some considerable headset play
I've installed rockshox Judy's onto my 2013 felt nine 20. Straight steerer tube etc.
Looking at the pics – I'm assuming I have cut the steerer too high? Before I go cutting anymore – is there anything else that seems amiss?
I transferred the crown race from the old forks, and set it as far down as I could.

Its supposed to be like that.you need to put a topcap on it and set the Headset under tension
Instead of cutting again, just throw an 1/8 headset spacer into the stack under the stem.
Loosen the stem bolts. Adjust the play out with the top cap screw. Then tighten the stem bolts to lock in the adjustment.
As mentioned, try to put the smallest spacer you can find under the stem. The topcap doesnt look like it has enough clearance and its bottoming out on the top of the steerer rather than preloading the top of the stem.
