Hey!
Hey everyone,
I’ve got a 2018 Specialized Sequoia Elite that I picked up in “meh” condition for cheap with the goal of restoring it. Unfortunately, both of the brake calipers (Shimano BR505) were toast, the pistons are cracked and not worth repairing.
Now I’m trying to find suitable replacement calipers, but I’m getting super confused about compatibility between brake hoses and calipers. I’d really like to keep my current hoses, which are BH59.
Does anyone know which brake caliper models would be compatible with my setup? I’ve read conflicting info online, some people say the R7070 would fit, while others say it won’t.
Any advice or first-hand experience would be super appreciated. Thanks!

Any flat mount Shimano and your good to go. Easy fix man. Those flat mount are the golden standard 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Ya and as said above. We would choose GRX given the options. But all shimano works. It’d be a good idea to get two new Shimano ‘olives’ too

[The compatibility chart](https://productinfo.shimano.com/en/compatibility/C-186) will tell you what hose goes with what caliper. I would stick with calipers that use BH59 rather than ones that use BH90, downgrading the hose will make those calipers feel spongy. You could also use [this widget](https://www.sram.com/en/rockshox/models/tl-rvbt-bc-a1) to pull new hoses through while pulling the old ones out.
