I think there’s a lot of people sitting on Talip Pagacha here and at the moment he’ll play the card of letting Brandon McNorti go. The problem is Brandon McNelte has got Binium G with him as well. Also there Neielson Pace. So this is Palace, G and McNei. I don’t know whether McNelte knows yet that the split has happened. Yes, now he looks and now he knows as well. And Paul Laa is trying to jump across that gap. These three need to keep moving. Palace needs to keep driving as well if they’re going to get anywhere near the front of this race. Otherwise, they are racing for what? Eighth, 9th, and 10th. These three at the moment. And this is what happens when riders start to look around and they start to chip away and those gaps just slightly open up and no one’s wanting to do it. But of course, you’re going to start looking around at Teddy Pagata because he is the rider that everyone knows is going to attack on this final climb. Yeah, you’d expect it. The problem is is that gap small enough for him to cross to the front. The front group, Alice, they cannot afford to mess around, can they? With this kind of gap, they’re going to have to keep going for the line because otherwise just see Pugachel have a drink. He’s not going to gift his bottle to anyone. If he is going to do it, it’s a closable gap on the Kota de la Montana. But these the these seven riders here out front cannot mess around now. Surely, no, they can’t mess around. We do still have Pavl Civikov in this group from UAE team Emirates as well, who does have the right to be able to sit on with two teammates coming from behind and Estana also making sure that they’re still keeping that pressure on at the front with two riders there. But this group has really slowed down and now the Pelaton have group caught the group of Teddy Pagacha. Oh my goodness me. And I think that’s the group that’s got Michael Matthews. We still could be on for a fourth victory in a row for Michael Matthews. Do you know it would not surprise me after watching last year’s race too. I think he’s in there. You know, we know we’ve got Binium G in there as well. They may not get back on though now because that group has become very, very big and it needs someone like Tadip Pagacha to try and rip across this gap. Alberto Betto looks extremely good today. He now goes clear with Julian Alfip. It isn’t like we even got some of the biggest names of the sport right at the front of this race at the moment. Now Alfalipe goes again. Bet knows to get straight on that wheel. We have seen every game being played by Julian Alfalipe and this would be a welcome return. He hasn’t won yet this year but this would be a very welcome return to winning in the men’s world tour for Alfalipe. These three are not yet caught. McNelte, but they’re going to come back into Bet Gifts his bottle to the crowd. Alfa Phippe is starting to rock and roll. It is Quinton Hardman’s who’s caught halfway across that gap and this lot needs to explode back there. If they’re going to get back in touch with the front of the race, they need to go absolutely right now. It is all going to come down to this final ascent of the Kot de Laonta. This is the final 2 km. They turn left onto the climb. Alberto Bettool leads with um Julia Alfip and I think by the looks of it Pavle Civico has now got the free reign to try and come across that gap. Alice, yeah, he has and I think will be the rider more confident to go for the majority of this climb as well being such a strong climber and the other two I’m not sure if they will look at each other a bit more confident in their sprints for the final but we are now heading into the climb for the last time. Yeah, here we go. This is it. The Kota de la Montania. It winds its way up a couple of switchbacks here. Goes around the back of the the citadel up to the top to finish on the Avenue Gor 6 as well. It’s Julian Alfalipe now piling it on. He has Alberto Betio with him. Pavo Civicov has ridden across you have to say very smoothly. Mate Mooric in the background back there also trying to get across the gap. But I think Julian Alan Falipe may be measuring this out very well. And I have to say Alice, I think it might be a rather even sprint between him and Betio should it come down to that. Civic is going and Alfalip is going. I did say in the tour Britain I think we’re seeing Azul and Alfip of all just boiling up at the end of this season. And here he goes the double world champion. Alfalip could do this but he’s got what 1500 meters to go. Needs to stop looking round. He has played every game in the book today to save everything for this moment. But now, can he use every ounce of those watts he saved? He’s looking good right now, Alice. He was and he had 21 seconds to the Pelaton going into this climb. He knows that everyone else in the breaker with him is tired. They’ve put in a lot of effort in today. And he is a rider who has saved the most in the breakaway to be able to sit on. And now we do have Teddy Pagatcha. He’s obviously tried to go again, but he also has Nias there as well. I think he’s going to do this. Alfle’s looking around. and he’s got enough space to have motorbikes between him and the others. We’re still seeing it. Tells you how long this time is. He’s still got a kilometer to go. He’s going to go under the Flam Rouge in just a moment. He’s got to hang on. Of course, this being Alfalip, he’s looking around about every three pedal strokes. There’s the Flam Rouge. He is clear by himself, the Frenchman. He has played all the games in the book to save as much energy as possible for this moment. And this is where he is trying to measure it out. He’ll always have a couple more kicks in him. We saw a really snappy Alfalipe of old style of acceleration in the tour of Britain this year just last week. But here’s the here’s the chase from behind. It’s Alberto Betio Pavl Civico Alfalipe looking good out front by himself. We look over the shoulders of Schuel Moza and the others. And there comes the bunch behind. I think it’s Biam actually near the front of that group back there. I believe Michael Matthews is in there too. Can Alfip hang on? He’s inside the last 650 m to the line. Alice, what a drag it is now. It is. It’s a really tough final here. It’s still dragging up and his legs really may tie up in the final, but like we’ve said, everyone has had a tough finish here, but Bessie really is bringing this gap back it looks like and he has Pavo Civic on his wheel. Yeah, Bessie is coming back at Alfalite. But I think looking at these pictures, I think the Frenchman may have just done enough. Bessiel was always going to raise his game coming towards the finish, but we need to remember the rider who has saved enough for this moment. I think Philip’s going to do it. And what a return. If he can just hang on Julian Alfalip, he hasn’t run any races this year. Some people have been calling saying that actually it was it was kind of time the end of his career was starting to wayne. But we saw it at the tour of Britain. Those same snappy legs, the accelerations on the climbers of Great Britain just last week. Julian Philippe has been boarding to this point. He’s got to try and hang on here. Pavikov giving it one last go. I may be speaking too soon. Civic is coming at him. But Julian Alfalipe, what a return to the top for the twotime world champion. I hinted at it earlier today that Alfalite was back to his best and that is very much up amongst his best there. It’s going to be Skeleosa finishing off finishing off the best of the rest from behind of what is actually really the bunch coming in. Michael Matthews, three-time winner of this race and defending champion, comes off for a place probably just outside the top 10. But Alice Wood, what a return to the very very top of the world tour for Julia Alif.

  1. Some wrote him off, looked down on him, left him in the background. Julian will always be the champion he is, and until he retires, he will pedal his heart out to set fireworks.

  2. Alaphillippe not pulling at all in the break leaves an asterisk on this victory in my opinion. Some may call it smart, I call it unsportsmanlike.

  3. Bravo Julian. Heureusement que les adversaires de l’échappée n’ont pas su jauger tes capacités et ont pédalé pour toi.
Espérons que c’est un vrai retour au plus haut niveau. Ça augure d’un beaucoup championnat du monde à Kigali !

  4. 5. Just sitting on the wheel and then attacking isn’t what I would expect from a two-time world champion, but it’s typical for Ala and probably the only way he can win again. I don’t think it’s very smart – just unsportsmanlike. And it wasn’t very smart of Bettiol to do all the work for him either.

  6. Love lulu he was tadej before tadej in that he was in yellow at tour winning solo and pinchy stages. Amazing racer. Great to see him win if he had little more patience and practicality hed have won lots more. Incredible taw talent fleche and liege showed that. He should have podiumed a Flanders (i know crash) but feel like Pinot, bardet, allaphillipe all incredible riders needed blend of their qualities to have gt champion that generation deserved i thought.
I missed tadej no offense to vuelta but anyone saying tour was boring because predictable at least there's action. He forced it like vdp does like sagan did or gilbert or lulu 😊 its why they're loved!!!
