


This was a project from a few years ago. I found this Trek at Goodwill in terrible condition. The seatpost was so stuck the previous owner cut it shorter and welded it back together in the frame! Thankfully, I was able to remove it and build the bike into a commuter. Unfortunately, it was too large for me, so I eventually let it go.

I love those old Treks
My old beater 710 frameset build has become one of my favorite ever, really nice construction and great tire clearance. Mine is a little older, from 1980, but otherwise virtually identical save for the fork crown. Do you recall if yours still had an SAE binder bolt and .833″ (21.15mm) quill stem? Those are the two major idiosyncrasies I identified with mine.
