Took these pics. Meant to post them. These Eclat wheels are great. After many years riding used wheels, both my current rides now have box fresh, straight from the shop wheelsets.
These Eclats are my favourite. I had some issues for a while with the Mission Deploy freecoaster on my Cult, but they have been resolved by fitting the slack adjustment rings… which I didn’t want to do other than to see if it cured the issues, and it did *shrugs*
But the Eclats and my Fly are for street pounding and they are so smooth and fast, and they habe a nice distinct click track without being too loud (I’m old. I don’t want the attention of a loud hub)
The Eclat rear wheel hub guards were a little tricky to fit with the mild eccentricities of the Fly frame (a really short stubby drop out plate) but a little judicious grinding – as seen vaguely in the one picture – to create some clearance, and they are on and as fine as a sable’s muffin box.

The drive side hub guard required more complex cutting away and I kind of stuffed it up a little and eventually cut away more than I ultimately needed to. I also tried a variety of ways of cutting them before discovering the easiest and quickest way was my Dremel at the highest speed.
So I’m ordering another one and will do that one once and with accuracy, just for my own satisfaction really. This one is fine. It fits, it wirks, and it’s solid… it just annoys me that it looks like a dog chewed it, and various cutting wheels shot across it out of control, leaving all the hallmarks of bad workmanship.
I don’t mind grind marks, but “I can’t control my powertools” marks… just….euuugh, no.
