So Who are Campervan Journey?
We are JT, Harry, Claire, Sam and Ben, oh and Hunny the Dog. We discovered campervanning in 2015 when we bought our first Volkswagen T5 Combo after seeing many at our favourite campsites. We were staying with our tent, and dreaming that one day we would have our own Campervan. After much research, we bought and converted our own T5 Kombi to suit our requirements, check out the video on the channel. We soon discovered that owning a Campervan is a way of life and it is not just about amazing trips round Europe, it’s as much about great days out and family time…
We have been lucky enough to visit some amazing places with our van, many of which we know we wouldn’t have seen if we had not owned it. They instil a sense of adventure and where shall we go into your life.
After 3 years with the T5, we upgraded to a Volkswagen T6 California Beach, and then after 5 years we upgraded to our current van, our Hymer Free S 600. We continue to enjoy travelling and visiting some amazing places. You can check out our latest videos and adventures here on the channel !
Please remember and hit SUBSCRIBE! if this is your thing ! We try to make videos to share the good and bad of where we have been and some tips and tricks that we have learnt along the way, as well as reviews of some of the things we have bought to use whilst camping and places we have visited and stayed.
Remember, We believe that buying a Campervan was one of the best things we have ever done !!!

Hi everybody, I’m JT. Welcome to another video from me here at Camper Van Journey. [Music] Welcome to another campsite review from me here at Camping Deland in Nexon, a half an hour from Limoge. So, here at Camping Land, the pitches are all a very nice size. Um, we could just choose your own pitch when you arrived. And you can see here they’re marked out with laurel hedges. Good tree cover across the site, which has been very welcome given the heat that we’ve had whilst we’ve been here. And all of the pitches have got not just electric hookup but also a tap which has been great again in this hot weather that we’ve had. Our pitch overlooks the lake and the lake is a public lake. So there’s a little car parking area down the front where locals have come to walk their dogs and cycle etc. And there’s a little lane that runs alongside where there’s been a little bit of traffic running up and down but nothing too disturbing. Now this is a municipal site. It is pretty basic. I think it’s rated as three stars. Um, that said, the only reason I would say it’s basic is that it’s lacking a pool. Now, you might question whether you could go swimming in the lake. There is a sign that says no swimming. So, um, it’s a fishing lake rather than a swimming lake. You’ll see with our van parked roughly in the middle of the pitch, there’s still loads of room. So, there’s about 50 pitches spread out across the campsite. It’s not very big at all. And they’re all set off these little avenues with 1 2 3 4 five or six on each run. You certainly don’t feel like you’re overlooked. A lot of privacy afforded by the hedges and trees. Interesting. Haven’t seen any proper tents. Uh it’s mainly camper vans like ours, motor homes or caravans. In the central block behind me, you’ve got uh good outside washing facilities for washing your dishes. There’s also some laundry sinks too. And this is also the shower and toilet block. So shower and toilet facilities are again absolute adequate good toilets. Toilet paper is provided [Music] and good shower with no limit on water. Just take as long as you want. The central office that we checked into when we arrived has been staffed by a couple of ladies who both speak English which uh with our broken French made it easy to answer any questions or queries that we had. We’re also able to order bread as well which we’ve done. um baguettes and pano shakalas coming in at about a euro each. I forgot to mention if you fancy a camper van journey sticker just like this one here, drop me an email at [email protected] and I’ll let you know how you can buy one or click the link in the description below. They do look really good on your van. I’ll put a proper map of the site up on the screen, but the tariffs, I just want to draw your attention to that. They are super super cheap. So, we spent two nights here with the three of us with electric hookup and it came to €31. What a bargain. That’s half roughly half what we’d pay for one night at a Hootopia site. Now, it doesn’t have a pool, doesn’t have quite the same level of facilities. But if you’re just looking for a basic campsite, and as we were a basic campsite with somewhere where we could shower off given the heat and a bit of shade, it’s been brilliant. This camping municipal site is on the edge of Nexon. So very much in the rural countryside and you can see a really nice quiet countryside location. That said, just 5 minutes walk up the road behind me is a good size superu uh which serves uh Nexon as a town. So we walked up there took 15 minutes. Um you could cycle and obviously you could drive. The waste disposal facilities for your camper van or motor home are just outside the campsite. So they’re actually the public ones available just here. So there is a as you might have noticed just now there is a security gate uh for access in and out of the campsites just so that the gate is locked I think from 1000 p.m. Um but to give free and easy access your waist is just on this road. And if you’re here for a couple of days, there’s plenty to wander around and see some nice walks and roots. It’s also possible to hire from the reception some electric bikes for I think it’s uh €15 for a day, which again is pretty good value if you wanted to head a little bit further a field. So, I hope you enjoyed that quick review of of this municipal campsite we’ve stayed at at Camping Daland near Nexon. It’s uh been the first time that we’ve stayed at a municipal campsite and I have to say I’ve been really really impressed. If you’re not bothered by a pool or uh some of the fancier uh facilities that uh the bigger chains offer, then this is a great stopping point. And I I can see it being absolutely perfect uh and being a really good one or two nightight stopover as you you travel through France. If we’re back in the area, then I’m sure we will put it on our list of places where we will come back to. Thanks again for watching. Uh if you’ve enjoyed the video, got any use from it, please give us a thumbs up. Please hit the subscribe button and we look forward to seeing you on another video here on Campan Journey very, very soon. Thanks for watching. Heat. Heat. [Music]

Looks good value, you often pay a similar amount for an aire that's little more than a car park.
Hi 😁👍✌️
