Hi all, have been looking for a full sus trail bike to move away from the hardtail. I found this Marin Rift Zone XR 2024 listed on marketplace for $2500 Australian dollars (~1600USD) with some scrapes on the frame and dented rim(I don't know how bad this is). Would this be a good deal or should I look elsewhere?

https://www.marinbikes.com/au/bikes/2024-rift-zone-29-xr#specifications

  • RockShox Lyrik Select+ fork w/150mm travel
  • RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ rear shock
  • SRAM GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain
  • SRAM DB8 4-Piston hydraulic disc brakes
  • Maxxis Assegai 2.5" tires

My best prices reference is Bikes online has the Rift Zone 2 for ~$2700AUD.

TIA

  1. That bike has seen a pretty good amount of use, and because the seller doesn’t list any details about maintenance items I’d probably try to get a few hundred off knowing that you are going to need to service the suspension, pivots, drivetrain, and brakes sooner rather than later. Unless they can prove they’ve done it recently.

I don’t think the rim is a huge issue, unless it won’t hold air tubeless.
