  1. Prices going up is called CPI inflation. Wages trying to catch CPI inflation drives more CPI inflation and causes it to become structual. That's not interesting, that's devastation

  2. There are always places to buy food that is affordable to minimum wage earners. The problem is Americans and affluent westerners eat out so much that they compare the cost of restaurant food to minimum wage, when you should compare local market and supermarket ingredients with minimum wage. There is not so much disparity when comparing these.

I live in Guatemala, and restaurant food cost 4-5x more a plate than what you buy in the market to make at home. There are also levels to restaurant – lower, middle and higher class.

  3. people always ask do we consider ourselves eastern or northern european, I say it like this, we got the culture of both, but the living costs are of northern europe and salaries are of eastern-europe and taxes only keep going up too

  4. So like Croatia similar prices on everything except Alcohol and Tobacco (which is cheaper) but the median salarys are less then half compared to Germany or Sweden and bringing in the euro made it worse..

  5. Wages and Spending is two different things!!

Growing a Garden, Making your own clothes, furniture an etc. Wages is to pay for things you can’t make, grow or barter for.
