There’s not even a question, with the stumpy you are getting electronic shifting which works better when you are pedaling hard (I’ve tested it, shits amazing) and dang great fox suspension with a piggyback shock. Of course, this depends on which type of riding you are doing, but for everyday trails and even a little bit of descending I would choose the stumpy.

  2. Vastly different bikes with very different specs? One is a down country / light duty trail bike and the other is an all mountain go anywhere hit anything bike.

Specialized by a mile. But you’re asking the wrong question here. First figure out what type of trails you will ride in your area then choose the bike to fit that style of riding.

  4. They are very different bikes you should be comparing EVO to Trek Fuel Ex, not Top Fuel which has shorter suspension
both are trail bikes but EVO is leaning towards downhill and Top Fuel leans towards XC

  5. OP the top fuel seems more like the bike you want based on the type of riding. I think shimano is better for MTB but this is preference and YMMV. However the components are just a smidge of what to look for. See comments from others.

  6. I don’t buy bikes based on components. How does the frame ride compared to your ability and favoured riding?
