I like nice things, but I want a DEAL. This is how I saved $4k on a very expensive bike.

I saw someone else post about how to get the best deal when shopping so I thought I would share my recent experience as well. Some of my friends think I am crazy the amount of time I spend figuring out how to get the best deal on stuff. When it comes to a big purchase like an expensive bike this is my thought process. Thought I’d share but maybe no one cares about this. But by waiting and using these tips, I save over $4k on a $10k bike.

I wanted to buy this bike and it is on sale now:

It’s almost a $10k bike when it came out retail price. This time of year is a great time to buy obviously because of the season in most places.

1. 2. I used [ActiveJunky.com](https://ActiveJunky.com) to click through before I made the purchase so I save another 5% cash back ($336 savings!). There are other portals like this too but Active Junky usually has the best rates for outdoor stores and brands.
3. Using my Wells Fargo Cash Card I get another 2% cash back ($134 savings!)
4. join the Evo membership program for free to get points on the purchase. You will get a point for every dollar spent. For this purchase I’ll get 6,719 points which is equal to $660 worth of credits and discounts on future purchases. This amount also enters me into their Black tier of the membership which gets me a $20 off coupon (200 points) and another one on my birthday.

Sometimes it pays to wait and use the savings tips…saved me over $4k. Happy shopping.
