Just today i switched from a rockshox yari 160mm to a domain r 180 but the lower bearing of my headset appears to be too narrow even tho the yari should have the same width of the steerer tube . will changing the headset resolve this issue ? Also that lower bearing got stuck on the steerer tube and im not sure how to pry it off without damaging the steerer tube

You are missing the crown race
I hope you didn’t ride it like that.
Is that a straight headtube (vs tapered)?
You need a different headset. Best bet is to take it to a shop and have them do it.
Headset tools are rather expensive.
Is the new fork a 1.8 tapered?
I think you may have gotten a 1.8” to 1-1/8” fork rather than 1.5” to 1-1/8” fork. I’d recommend going to the RockShox website and entering the serial number to confirm.
If it is a 1.8” tapered fork then it won’t work on your bike.
Is it an ebike fork?
You’re missing the crown race and you have the wrong size headset. Headsets can get very confusing, it’s probably in your best interest to take it to a shop.
You got the wrong fork. The fork you needed is a straight 1 1/8 and the one you received is 1 1/8 tapered. Totally understandable mistake, the bike industry doesn’t make a ton of sense sometimes.
