Started with a 16” wheeled children’s bike, as the small wheels are easy to pack in luggage and I wanted a coaster brake so I didn’t have to mess with cables and levers. Got a bunch of 1.25” chromoly frame tubing and cut/welded/machined each section so that it would fit in my 20×30 suitcase.

I was a little worried it would be too heavy but it’s under the limit.

I was also worried it would suck to ride, but with a 72T custom chainring and a 16T coaster brake cog it actually rides really really nicely. Headed to NYC this weekend.

So dumb question here, but I’ve always wondered this when I see tall bikes… how the hell do you get on?
