Hey there!
I just got my first bike since I was a kid. I’ve never really worked out or trained to get in shape until now… and honestly, it’s because of a girl.
She’s older and way more experienced with cycling. She just bought a new bike, and since I really want to spend time with her, I picked up an old vintage Trek 1000. She rides a mountain bike, but I figure mine will do for now while I learn.
I’ve already had three accidents so far 😅😅first one riding solo, just lost balance out of nowhere; second time I ran into another bike; and most recently, I crashed into the door of a truck (my knee’s still paying for that one). But I’m still on the road.
I’d love any tips or advice now that I’m getting into this. I’ve been riding some 25–50 km trips, and I recently hit my first 100 km! I’ve done a few climbs too, nothing too crazy yet. But I know she’s out there doing tougher routes with other riders… and I don’t want to lose sight of her. I do not want to lose her.
I’ve attached a picture of the pretty one. Here in Colombia we usually call bikes “La burrita”
