Houseboat + Bicycle = Houseboatcycle! | This Is The Perfect Summer Tiny House Camper Vehicle

Is it a bicycle – is it a boat? Actually, it’s both; a unique, amphibious vehicle. A bike that can turn into a boat in no time, and just as quickly into a mini-campervan. It took Latvian designer Aigars Lauzis years to perfect his house-boat-bicycle invention. He got the idea on a 30,000-kilometer cycle tour from London to Tokyo.

hi I’m I gots louses and I invented this Phoebe a sea bicycle camper called Z Triton both on water and dryland I gars louses travels with his unique invention every which way across Latvia [Music] the designer loves to delve into nature quite literally having a little camper that you can take in to water like this on a sunny sunny day like this it’s just amazing it gives ya the sense of freedom really I think that’s the that’s the most most fun about it the Latvian designers invention is a houseboat cycle just a few quick tweaks and the bicycle turns into a boat it’s powered by an electric outboard motor and has room for two people and a four-legged companion I carlos’s spent several years working on this prototype so the special thing about the boat Moniz is that it’s a it’s a little micro house so it’s you know the hatch slides over and you can stay on my lake overnight it’s equipped with lights USB charging ports so it’s a little tiny tiny little house on water so yeah there’s nothing there’s nothing like that out there I think to him it’s the most beautiful way of communing with nature I think I like the piece I don’t know the sense of you know connectedness and sense of belonging to this planet and to this world I think that’s the nature I think I think the piece the Harmony [Music] whenever he wants to move on all I gots needs to do is to pull his amphibian cycle out of the water and get back on the road it weighs 100 kilograms and is equipped with an electric motor that is good for up to 40 kilometers [Music] so far I’ve been going through all sorts of like really really hardcore country roads it’s fine it’s it’s it’s it’s it’s okay I gars louses spent ten years living and working abroad two years ago he moved back to Latvia into his ancestors house and started his own design studio during a four-year bicycle tour from London to Tokyo he came up with the idea for the Zed Triton as he calls his invention and started building it it includes a little herb garden and a few technical gadgets like a hand powered windshield wiper [Music] together with his wife he’s working on producing it in series we basically defined eight key principles that we really want to stand by ethics and beauty and creativity and farm sustainability and all these things that really hold us together so so we want to create something really meaningful for this planet we don’t want to waste resources we don’t want to create something that is just just waste on this planet to get his creative juices flowing I gars louses sometimes takes a spontaneous break from daily life his invention is perfect for that as it also serves as a mini camper the captain’s cabin can be changed into a little bedroom for nature lovers so I think if we can bring that smile and joy and sense of unique experience to two people a lot of people’s lives then I think that’s that’s the best that we can we can achieve with this product where would you had if you had a houseboat cycle [Music]
