  1. Prolly fine for a little bit. But they are relatively inexpensive. So i would order some up. But i would ride until they showed up.

  2. You can buy jockey wheels independent of the derailleur. They cost about $10 USD for a pair. The upper wheel is the “guide” wheel, and the lower is “tension” wheel. Make sure to buy a set that matches your bike’s speed (8-speed, 12-speed, etc), and with the same number of teeth as the old wheels.

    I personally wouldn’t bother fixing it unless it’s actively impeding your shifting.  Many early derailleurs didn’t even have teeth. 

    Spend the time you would have spent in the shop out riding your bike 🚲 😃
