I got one the blowout Jenson Exclusive Stumpjumper EVO alloys delivered today. I couldn’t help but notice there are pores in the welds. Some go through, some just appear to be surface defects. The one at the down tube/head tube weld shows the weld around the pore is shockingly thin (pic1). It appears to be hollow underneath because you can see the untouched down tube through the pore. The one at the seat tube clearly has no metal underneath either (pic2). If I can see this, I can’t imagine what’s going on that I can’t see. There are other surface pores in other welds, but not hollowed out like these two. Are welds like this normal for specialized? Anyone else have a stumpy like this? Is Specialized and/or Jenson going to give me grief if I want a new frame? I don’t want to return the whole bike. The sale bikes are now sold out, and I don’t think there’s another comparable deal anywhere right now. This is only my second bike, so I want to make sure I’m not nitpicking about insignificant defects before bothering to go through warranty claims or anything like that. Thanks dudes and lady dudes.
