These are the five dumbest things people do when they travel to Porto. First off, not booking tickets ahead of time for Livaria Lelo. Like, you literally can’t buy them at the door. So, if you just show up, you’ll end up having to get them online anyway, and most likely they’ll be sold out. Another common mistake is eating in Ria. Yeah, the views are awesome, but it’s the priciest part of town. And if you want real local food, there are spots that are 100 times better. Speaking of food, I know going to McDonald’s when you’re traveling might sound pointless, but Porto has one of the most beautiful McDonald’s in the world. So, at least step inside and check it out. I don’t know why, but so many people rush to buy a full transport pass as soon as they arrive when honestly, you’ll walk pretty much everywhere and barely use it. And finally, we get it. Porto is perfect for a 2 or 3day weekend trip. But seriously, since you’re already here, take one extra day and go see the charming town of Ao.

  1. Damn! I'm from Porto and I absolutely LOVE Aveiro! Glad to see someone advising it. It's our personal Venice. And the food there is also awesome. For even better food, you can try Costa Nova, somewhat close to Aveiro!
