Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday, October 5, that Ukraine would have a “week to live” if arms supplies from Western countries were to end the next day.

Putin made the remarks during an hours-long live-streamed press conference at the annual Valdai Discussion Club event in Sochi, Russia, while responding to a question from Mikhail Rostovsky, a long-time columnist for Russian state media outlets, about whether Putin would object to Ukraine joining the European Union.

Putin said he would not object, as the EU is an economic alliance and not a military alliance like NATO. He went on to say that neither Ukraine’s economy nor its military defenses could exist without foreign support.

“Imagine, if deliveries stop tomorrow, they would only have a week to live until the ammunition runs out,” Putin said, according to machine translations of a Kremlin-published transcript and an English translation voice-over on the Kremlin’s footage.

  1. Pot and kettle situation.

In WW2 russia received help from US to the value of $226 billion of today'smoney. 4 times what Ukraine received now.

Without this help any defense against advancing Germany would be destined to failure.

Russia received trucks, weapons, communication devices and many more. Ford transported whole tire factory to russia.

Stalin said: “The United States … is a country of machines. Without the use of those machines through Lend-Lease, we would lose this war.”

In his memoirs, Khrushchev described how Stalin stressed the value of Lend-Lease aid: “He stated bluntly that if the United States had not helped us, we would not have won the war.”

  2. He is right! And people views have changed too. The inflation will change people’s mind. Exactly how it changed mine. My kids future is more important than the aid for Ukraine. At least for me!

  3. The „biggest“ military power is not able to win and will not win!! They’re using Soviet trash and their hyper wapons are equipped with computer chips from Chinese washing machines🤫😂😂😂

He is right if we Americans cut off Ukraine aid they will have to surrender and the war will be over as long as we can end it that's all that matters it's not just America who gives aid a few other countries and the UN and Europe give money Ukraine has gotten about 200 billion to 250 billion dollars so far and America is about to give another 60 billion dollars maybe

  7. We have enough of UKRAINE and all the money sent there while our people here are hungry and struggling from day to day to survive and pay bills !!! We have enough of this game !!! Russia never came next to USA to thread anyone for any reason why NaATO needed to go in their backyard to have their military bases ??! WHY ?.
I'm not pro or contra any country.BUT this is the way to build more hate between nations, countries and races ..exactly this way ..taking our money and send it to Ukraine when we have soooo many homeless people, soo many social issues, sooo many other economic issues..😢😢😢😢😢
