I'm an intermediate rider and been riding on a salsa hard tail ~ 10 years and i'm looking to upgrade to a full suspension.
Truly a first world problem: I'm interested in the new stumpjumper 15 and i'm inclined to get the Evo, with a 160mm fork. My guess is that the 150mm is perfectly good for 95% of what I'll ride and the 160mm is probably not the best for me. BUT the Evo paint job is so much cooler than equivalent non-evo bike. (shouldn't a bike speak to you??)
What would you suggest? Go with the 150 or 160mm? here's an example of some of the trails I'll ride the most: https://www.trailforks.com/region/wawayanda-state-park/map/?activitytype=1&z=12.5&lat=41.16504&lon=-74.43455&content=trails,labels,region,poi,directory,polygon,eventpremium,waypoint,nst,routes_featured

If you blindly rode a 150 fork and a 160 fork on the same bike back-to-back I’d imagine 99% of riders couldn’t tell you which one was which. 10mm of front travel isn’t going to make or break your ride either way. Get the bike you want, don’t worry about the fork. If for some reason you’re in that 1%, you can always reduce the fork travel later.
