Recent new owner of 2nd hand 2010 3 speed.
Bike has hardly been used in it's life and slowly learning what can be added/changed to improve it.
The block pictured looks to be a "standard" Brompton block.
YouTube video from Brilliant Bikes – https://youtu.be/hHtBsa3o2Hg?si=DEOx-9oS6Prw72Mj
Has the "standard" block as suited for riders up to 70kg & the firm block for riders over 70kg but also explained that from 2017/2018 , Brompton have just produced one standard block.
I understand there are a number of companies that provide "standard"and "firm" blocks.
My questions are –
Should I swap out the block given it's likely to be 15 yrs old ?
I'm usually under 70kg , so I should go for a "standard" block ?
Is a "firm" block worth buying and trying it out?
What company producing these blocks would you recommend?
Thanks
