I leave my lock behind like this at the bike rack at work, if it makes you feel a little better? That way I don’t have to carry one back and forth

I always just figure its an employee that doesn’t want to carry the lock home and back with them. Of course there’s the chance that people are not locking their bikes correctly or thieves are being really stupid and cutting frames to steal bikes.
