  1. Same for plastic bags in Canada. And the carts. Most chain stores have their own designer bags. With self-checkout limited to a number of items, you usually put one item at a time into your bags. Strangely, Canada and the US have gotten rid of self-checkout because they cause more retail theft rather than less.

For the smooth brains (US), its a sweat towel and hydration for the perceived intimidating bagging of your own groceries under pressure at checkout, because efficiency of a cashier is bewilderingly frowned upon. Stop trying to bag as they ring, you take your cart to a staging area and bag your stuff after getting out of the way. Think bigger, always get out of the way.

  3. That bad thing is how they scam you they don't care about plastic that's why all your food comes in plastic that's just a way for corporations to make more money and stupid liberals to feel better
