Yeah, I’m uh fully responsible for this uh for this loss cuz uh it was me that made the call we we would go for a sprint and I asked Matteo and Tish to uh to just control in the in the final and bring me to the line cuz uh yeah uh I was confident I could win the sprint but then uh in the sprint I cramped completely and uh Neilson Pas uh turned out to be stronger. Yeah, I was just too selfish in the final. I wanted this victory so bad. Um, especially after all the criticism I’ve been through and all the bad luck I’ve been through last year. Being honest is fine. The question is: is the lesson learned?
It’s crazy the hate this man gets. He buries himself for his teammates and may not win as much as he used to in sprints but he is the best man to have. Him extending Simon Yates lead and eventual win in the giro should have solidified that. He’s not really a sprinter he’s just the best support dude in the pro peloton
