I posted a question a while ago to y’all xbikers about frame geometries and compatibility of components. Thanks for the feedback and support. Here is the finished project.
Background information:
I had a Kona Dr Dew for several years, it’s a sweet bike, but it never quite fit right. I saw the VO Polyvalent was on sale and noticed that the seatpost, BB, wheels, etc where the same specs. I figured it would be “easy” to transfer all the bits between frames, so I went for it. “Easy” is in quotes because this is by far my most in depth bicycle project to date. Being the beginner I am, there were several things I overlooked. It was pretty intimidating at times but I learned a lot along the way.
Lessons learned:
1) The right tools and the right parts make life infinitely easier.
2) Support your LBS; it’s nice to have a place to go to get professional advice and to get the right bits when you only have the wrong bits.
3) Flat mount doesnt always mean flat mount/cut your losses; I wasted a lot of time and money trying to fit the brakes with different adapters.
4) Refer to lesson 1 and 2.

Love your story, the learning process for wrenching is part of the journey, ya know you take a loss if you screw something up but you acquire knowledge, right on
Also bike looks great 👍
