I have dia compe ene bar end shifter with microshift sword 10 speed derailleur and advent x 10 speed cassette 11-48.
I can only get it to shift 9 cogs. From 13 to 48 or 11 to 40. Does anyone have experience with the shifter? Its advertised as a 10 speed friction shifter

There are different cable pull ratios. Classic Shimano and Campy systems have a similar enough ratio that friction shifters can be compatible with both (although it’s different enough that indexing doesn’t work), but according to [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/bikewrench/comments/1dd0siq/micro_shift_sword_compatibility/) Microshift Sword uses a different ratio. This might mean that the shifter doesn’t have enough cable wrap to pull the derailleur all the way across the cassette.
