Just wanted to share a quick recap of a 2-day bikepacking trip I did August 2023 around Bormio, up in the Italian Alps.
The route was The Salt and Wine Road but we made a few changes, here are the tracks:
We climbed both Umbrail Pass and the Stelvio Pass, long, steady climbs with endless switchbacks.
The ride had a bit of everything: gravel, quiet alpine roads, rocky trails, and a few singletrack sections through forests and meadows. We camped out in a tent at the end of the first day.
We rode a Surly Ghost Grappler and a Surly Ogre.
