• General parts list
    • Frame – 98 Zaskar LE
      • check the last photos – i got this from a guy who was given the bike by his uncle who raced, so the bike had top tier parts, but everything was very clapped out and neglected. I sold the XTR bits but they were basically useless, not worth using. The original Mavic wheels, while sweet despite the aluminum flat blade spokes, had like 1 ride left in them before the freehub blew up too.
      • I had it repainted locally and sourced new stickers from Hungary all the way to the US. Couldn't be happier with the result. Looks so sharp.
    • custom built Velocity Cliffhanger Wheelset rim brake rims with ~2012ish DT swiss 240 disc hubs to allow for max vintage versatility.
    • Toseek carbon fork
      • listen, i get the whole thing with these, but i have two and they are awesome. Firstly, the aesthetic is what i needed for this build and the performance is great. Especially for a cruiser (i do rip trails on this though) it is a very attractive option for price, weight, and performance.
    • SRAM NX Groupset – my fav for a cool $200 new 😀
    • Ikons setup tubeless
    • BB7 brakes, avid levers.
    • SQ Labs inner bar ends!
  • Current setup is with the black bars/seatpost/rigid fork/inner bar ends.
    • this setup is by far the best.
  • the middle photos are when i first built it and tried a 100mm modern fork. this setup was awful as the original fork (as pictured in the last few images) was a 60mm fork, so the geo was all wrong. Still i wanted to try it. I threw on some shorter stems but still it was all wrong. Felt like you were just riding on the rear tire only so very difficult to ride.
  • the last photos are how i bought it – very used and neglected by someone who didn't quite know what they had. I paid $300, which is more than i should have, but a classic Zaskar in the blue colorway got me. I sold off the XTR, the wheels despite them being trashed to recoup a bit, but it was more about taking this thing from useless to loved.
