It is the RCB RK6 and something you don’t get in a lot of electric bikes actually. You’ve got your power assist if I just you have to be careful. Oh my goodness. I got Oh my Excuse me guys. There’s a guy wing walking. Really loving it. Great actually. Very very impressed. [Music] Hello there. We’re Dave and Sue. This is our review of the RCB RK6, a folding ebike which is road legal in the UK. Hi guys. Yeah, that was pretty straightforward then. So, this is the RCB RK6 Rockowl Life. It’s a really great looking little town bike with a with some, you know, nice fat tires. We can certainly do a bit of off-roading on that, I think. So, Sue is going to love this bike, I think. But, we now need to get the battery charged up. Um, get the pedals on, get the saddle on, and it’s ready to roll. It took me probably that took about seven maybe 8 minutes to to unbox that uh and get it get it to this state. So very impressed at the packaging. Really really really really uh nice looking bike. I do like it a lot actually. Here we are. Look at our van. This is going to be Sue’s ebike. Yeah, this is a proper bike. So this is a bike. So I’m looking forward to this one cuz it doesn’t look too big. So I look forward to it. Yeah, I’ll do we’ll do a proper review on this obviously uh after this, but we just our first reactions really. I think it looks great. Right, guys. So, basically what we got in the box is a battery charger. Uh so, we’ve taken the battery out of the bike. The battery fits in here. That seat pulls forward with a little lever. There you go. The battery fits in there. Also comes there’s a a pump. You get a which is really good actually. A tire pump, which is excellent. That’s where the battery is. And then this box we’re just about to open. Let’s have a go at it. Sorry. See? So you can see it. See it. So this box in here, let’s see what we got in here. Okay. So you got two pedals, which are fine. I think they’re the folding type. Yes, they are. They’re the folding type, which is good. And something you don’t get in a lot of the electric bikes. Actually, here is a bike lock. Now, that’s pretty cool. Sorry about the plane going over. Yeah, bike lock. Very good. Uh, some instructions. Oh, and a couple of caps. We will find out where they go in a bit. Oh, that’s very cool. Now, look at that. That is very cool. Believe it or not, that’s a tool kit. All those Allen keys in one. Again, other bikes, I haven’t seen this. We’ve seen uh Allen keys all just sort of loose in the box. But that’s brilliant. and and a and a screwdriver set as well. So, that is quite a good little bit of kit actually that will help to us to put bits and pieces onto the bike, which is cool. And then an instruction booklet, a very, very comprehensive instruction booklet. Operation guide. Yeah, in English. That’s cool. Okay. So, and and three cable ties. Excellent. Very good. I’m very impressed with this bike, I have to say. Very impressed indeed. Okay, let’s get on them. Start putting stuff together. Two pedals. What you do with these, they they push in basically fold down. So you got fold fold basically fold down. So you got fold fold down pedals. You see what I mean? So this one is the left hand pedal, which is that one. This must be the right hand pedal. That’s that one. Oh yeah, that’s right. The left pedal. The left pedal screws on the anti on anticlockwise. the right pad. Pedal quite need to tighten that up. Presumably there’ll be a tool in there to do that which is cool. That is really really quite nutty. So you got a little spanner spanner u adjuster here. And you’ve also got three little socket spanners. This is fantastic. That really is cool. And there’s obviously that’s your end for your socket. So basically climb. That is a really brilliant tool and I haven’t seen that on any other bike we’ve had so far. So that is very very impressive. All right guys, so I just want to give you some details on this bike. Sorry about the road noise. We’re we’re in a campsite uh quite close to one of the major roads in the UK, but it’s it’s beautiful and we’re on our own. And here we are. Look. So okay, here we go. Bit of a description of this bike. I’ll point out stuff as we go. It is the RCB RK6. And they say the the slogan there you can see is rock our life. The interesting thing with this is they’re saying that the range is between 52 and 80 km which is pretty big for an ebike. Now it’s it’s obviously UK compliant UK legal. Maximum speed of 25 km now which is 15.6 mph. So it’s a legal bike in the UK. It’s actually not that heavy. We’re talking about 26 1/2 kilos in this state, which is actually not that bad. And this is obviously a folding ebike. Uh I’ll show you how that works in a bit. Tire size of 20 in. They’re 3-in tires. 20 20in tires, 3 in wide. Okay, so they’re sort of they’re not really off-road tires probably, but it certainly is available to certainly I’ve just ridden around on this grass and it’s absolutely fine. The voltage is 36 volts. Uh 250 W brushless 36VT highspeed motor with 20in wheels. We talked about front disc brakes, rear disc brakes, you can see. And the LCD screen, which we will talk you through, and there’s also a sevenspeed derailure gears. So, that’s really good. Shock absorbing on the front fork. It’s a pretty sturdy bike, actually. So yeah, being a folding bike is a huge advantage for us cuz it will go in our garage and that’s one of the big requisites that we want cuz Sue because it’s a drop frame and it’s folding and it’s not particularly heavy and has power assist and still got seven gears, then it’s pretty cool. There’s also an app uh and we’ll take talk you through cuz the app can tell tells you your mileage, total mileage, average mileage, speed, all that sort of stuff. Uh let me show you how it folds down. All right, guys. So, let’s just see how easy this is to fold up and get in our motor home garage. Also, how easy it is to get the battery out. So, let’s go. Let’s go for it. Right. So, first thing you do is you take the saddle up and insert your key in here. It’s very, very simple. Some bikes we’ve used quite tough to get the keys in and get the whole thing sorted out. Look at that. That’s just straight out. Easy. Really, really easy. This is David having a go on my new ebike. He’s doing really well on it. And it is a lovely bike. No, David. Going a bit crazy on this bike, but uh and there’s an app you can you can sign up to or you know, upload to your phone. Really nice. And the app tells you where you are apparently where you’ve been, how many miles, that type of thing. And there’s lots of safety advice. There’s a bicycle lock with it. I think David might have said all this when he opened it. But as you can see, he’s having lots of fun on it. Right guys, I’m now going to try and fit it into our motor home garage. So I’m going to fold it up and then see if I can get it in. But let’s go. So first thing is pull that down. This is where I get a problem sometimes because what it is is a little this little thing here. You pull it out. I don’t know if you can see that. You You should be able to pull it out. You pull it up and then pull it out and then that like that goes pushes that way and then that folds out. Fairly easy. It is. It takes a bit of getting used to. This little Can you I’ll show them here. So, look. See that little thing there? That has to be pushed up to bit to allow the whole thing to move. Okay. All right. So, that’s that. So, then this one you obviously need to clip up. There’s a little clip there. You clip that up. Pull that clip. And then literally it folds. Yeah. And then you got Does the pedal get in the way or not? No. It shouldn’t. No, it won’t do. Cuz actually Well, actually, you can fold the pedals up and in. That’s probably a good That’s a good thing. Yeah. I was thinking it looked like it would get in the way. Yeah. I’ll do that now. See? Push them in. Push them like that. And then literally Oh, yeah. That’s That That looks much smaller, doesn’t it? It’s compact, isn’t it? It’s about 25 kilo, 26 kilo. Let’s see if I can do it. So, let’s go. Heavy though. There you go. Quite heavy. Oops. goes in fairly easily though. Watch out for that that catch there. Yeah, there’s loads of space. Yeah. So, you can get two of those in. Good. Very, very happy. Yeah, it’s good. Right, guys, I’m going to go uh off at power assist one. Okay, now you can hear that assist coming in. Look at that. That’s great. That’s just power assist one. kicks it. The power kicks in on the second pedal. Um, I’ve got I need to just change the gear up a bit. There we go. But still with that power assist, too, it’s so easy up this hill is really, really easy. I must admit, love it. Yeah, very good. Really, really interested in this bike. I mean, I’d recommend this, as I say, as a town bike. It’s great. Um, it’s very smooth, very easy to ride, easy instructions, looks like very good support. Front fork suspension is cool, I must admit. Uh yeah, you get really easy ride and the uh the saddle is really comfortable. Okay, Paris 2 and I’m flying up the hill. This is great. Oh, it’s such an easy bike to ride. It really is such an easy bike to ride uphill. Power assist, too. Really easy to ride. It’s great. So, overall impressions, um, that’s a five out of five for me. It really is good. We’ve tested a few ebikes out now, and I must admit, I really like that one. Okay guys, here we are. So, here’s the RCB RK6 Rock Life. And we we had a go on this on our last site. We’re now on a new site. Uh here’s Susie. And um are you going to try this today or um we’re going to it’s like a shared bike. Shared bike. Yeah. Uh but I’ll just show you the um the bike itself. So there is seven derailure gears. You can see here. Very easy gear shift actually. You press that in and sh press that in and change it. Change the gear. switch on the power. There’s the power. And you basically got a little bit of grass on there, but you got the speed. You can see the speed. You’ve got your power assist. If I just You have to be careful. Oh my goodness. I’ve got Oh my. Excuse me, guys. There’s a guy wing walking. Uh yeah, I’m assuming that’s an actual person up there. Can you believe it? Would you been out of reneal? [Music] We We do come to some fantastic places, don’t we? Sorry, post. But yeah, no thanks. No, it’s all right. I don’t want it for my birthday. No, I’ll probably give it a miss. All right. That was a good interlude, wasn’t it? But yeah, so basically you’ve got on here uh you’ve got your battery power there. You’ve got your power assist. I’ll show you. So if I press the power, that goes to one, two, three. So we got three power assist modes. And I can then reduce it down to two. If I press the plus and power button once, takes me to average speed and then it takes me to maximum speed. Press it again and it gives me my speed. Um, it is a really nice looking bike and the reason Sue liked it was because it’s got a drop frame. Also, they do it in pink, but I wasn’t able to get a pink one. Uhhuh. So, I’m not sure if the This is UK um legal legal. Not sure if the pink ones are available in the UK at the moment, but it’s available in black and white. Yeah. Uh but yes, it retails. It retails, I think, at $799, but I will put the price up. Hello, guys. So, we’re going to take uh take the bike on a a road. Okay, so I’m in three assist here up this hill. I’m going to get on the road in a bit. Uh there is a cycle lane, so I should be fine. I see a lot of traffic, a lot of people about as well. [Applause] [Music] Heat. Heat. That’s better in seventh gear now as I come flying down here. Obviously holding traffic up, but I’m going left here, so that’s fine. That’s good. Okay. So, I’m at seven, power assist three. Yeah, it’s nice. I’m getting up to, as I say, look at the 14 15 mph. So, I am actually in top gear now. I’m right. Hang on. Let’s just get it in top gear. Okay, in top gear, power assist three. Pretty much flat here and I’m up at over 15 m an hour. Very, very [Music] Okay, nice and easy. Here we go. Yeah, it feels an easy ride. Um because obviously is it’s a town bike. It’s not You don’t really feel you can go too much faster than this, which is which is because it’s the road legal speed for one of these ebikes. Um, but it’s very easy, I have to say. So, I’m going up to Northfield Farm, which is where we were staying over there. There it is. There’s the farm. Okay. So, what do we think of this RCB RK6? I like it a lot. Um, really like it a lot. It’s going to be Sue’s bike. Sue is definitely going to be using this a lot, but you know, I’ve tested it quite quite extensively. Um, and it’s got a lot a lot going for it. It really is uh a town bike, I’d say. Um, not really off-road, but, you know, obviously you can ride it around on grass and stuff, not a problem. gave it a big test a couple of days ago. Got it up to sort of top speed, top legal speed because it is a legal road bike in the UK. Top legal speed 15 and a half miles an hour. I was on seventh gear and I was on paris 3 was it was flying at at the at the top of the legal speed. So, you know, that’s that’s a good thing. But yeah, it’s a very good looking bike. The battery goes in easily. There’s good support documentation which is really important. And the app is excellent, too. So obviously you can you can download the app. You’ve got Bluetooth. You’ve got all the information you need on mileage and speed and average speed and all that sort of stuff. The lights are great. The brakes are good. Disc brakes. As I say, 70 Railia gears, three power assist. Everything really is. It’s impressive actually. It’s impressive. [Music] Simple as that. And the great thing is you haven’t got that big high bar to get over. Impressed. Thank you to RCB for sending us the bike to review. And soon we’ll get a lot of use out of this, I’m sure. See you on the next one, guys. Cheers. [Music] [Music]

  1. This oak tree has seen horse-drawn carriages, the first steam engines, petrol-powered carriages, and now electric scooters. In the future, it will see hydrogen-powered flying scooters and much more…πŸ™‚ Interesting review, Dave. The multitool is really handy and multifunctional. Overall, it's nice to have a compact means of transport for short trips around the campsite. It seems that the day after tomorrow is already 10 October, time for deals.πŸ™‚

  2. Nice review Dave. Disappointed that that toolkit didn't have one of those tools to get stones out of a horses hoof though ;). Seriously, that's a great tool to have in the van, bike or not! Ian

  3. Happy Thursday Dave and Sue! You are getting closer to a new home, but before that you can enjoy your new bike. It is a neat compact one, so I guess it will give you a lot of extra mobility when you are driving around with Florrie. How does it compare to the one you had before by the way? Brilliant scene when that place came above you with a guy on the wing – That is not an everyday sight! All the best, Ant
