I've been battling my derailleur for months now, as the chain kept slipping off the front chain rings both inward and outward. Eventually I figured out there was movement in the bottom bracket, which I replaced. The chain now moves to each front chain ring when on the stand, and the bike was serviced today by a pro (a complimentary service my office was providing, so I can't take it back to the shop), but cycling home again the chain won't move into the lower (smaller) gear. The derailleur does move, but not far enough for the chain and I think it's at its limit. Is there something I'm missing that would cause it to be fine on the stand but not under my weight? Derailleur is a Shimano Sora, and it's on a Merida Speeder 200 (2×9).
