Been enjoying the versatility of the Surly Corner Bars (and knockoffs).

I started with the brake levers under the “hoods,” shifter above, handlebar extenders on the horns, full grips on the ends of the drops and on the hoods, flats and everything in between wrapped with thick foam tape. (Pics 1 & 2)

Next I’m trying out brake levers moved up to the horns enough to be reachable while on the hoods and from the drop/flat junction, shifter below about midway through the drop just before the ergo grip. The horns are extended to make a comfy drop position, flats and everything in between wrapped in thick foam tape. (Pics 3 -5)

What did you all come up with? Let’s see what you got!

  1. I wish there was a slightly lighter, smaller version of it. I know 46 is small enough, but something that was as wide as a regular 40 or 42 drop bar with a shallow drop would be so, so good. I tried so hard to love it but ended up selling it cz I never really got comfy on it. But yes, a truly versatile bar indeed.

  2. i got ‘weeras’ brand corner bar knockoffs at 43cm wide from amazon, absolutely love them. only a little scared the welds will fail and i’ll end up in a horrible crash. i ended up getting the real surly corner bars after, and couldn’t get comfortable with em- still too wide, both distance and angle- and have since switched back to the knockoffs. they’ve been on the bike for about 250 miles now and seem solid so far.
