Despite already having the scales tipped in favor for them with other tarrifs, this builder wants the government to make cycling even more expensive by demanding even higher taxes on us.
Capitalists who beg for an uncompetitive market hilariously give away the game that maybe it’s not the best system for everyone after all.

I thought the name sounded familiar. It’s the same shitheels who reinvented the wh… brake and came up with a terrible system.
And the name? Guardian? For kids’ bikes? This is all MAGA fear mongering, which I wouldn’t have thought could be found in the bike space, but here we are.

I’ve looked at the comments on social media and people who seem to know people inside the company when commenting and this whole thing stinks of MAGA.
They want a flat 150 dollar tax per bike imported. The history of investment and growth is really interesting and I’m wondering what the full story is.
I think it’s ok to want to bring manufacturing to the US, but multiple things can be true at the same time, such as this company also being toxic for consumers and how they want to punish customers across the board so they can sell more of their bikes which appear to be the shittiest things available on any market. Then the fact that this company specializes in D2C, so they want a 150 dollar flat tariff on all bikes, sell d2c, and then that means that bike shops will be obliterated in the process. That’s the real plan and of course BRAIN, as usual, does no actual journalism work. That “news” outlet more or less stands by and does no real critical reporting ever and it’s the only thing the industry has and shows how carnie it is. I remember back in the day when everyone openly knew Ironhorse was not paying anyone for nearly two years and was tens of millions in debt because the owner was scamming everyone. BRAIN refused to report on it, but kept positively reporting on Ironhorse, even though suppliers and engineers were already sounding the alarm that the owner was planning to rugpull suppliers and leave everyone with the debts.
The issue is that the 150 dollar tariff will also create a shock that will be felt elsewhere in the world.
