It slowly rides back to the 42 gear when in the 52 gear, it holds sorta tight, but I think it slowly over time wants to go back to default 42 and might slightly rub the chain?

Is this suppose to be indexed? cause I was playing with it trying to get it at a index point and didn't hit it (the back derailleur is indexed and all set up great).
Or is there a way to hold it lock to the 52 gear with more control, lock it up on that gear mechanism so it doesn't creep back towards the 42?

Thank you.

  1. Probably not indexed. It’s a bottom pull derailleur, so it’s pulling itself back to its resting point on the smaller gear. The shifter just needs some adjustment. Probably just a bit loose.
A shop could turn this around quickly

The left isn’t indexed, and if it’s moving from big to little ring, that suggests the tension screw isn’t tight enough. Give the big flat head holding the left shifter on the boss an 1/8 or 1/4 turn clockwise.
