My name is Max and this is my bicycle which I’m going to ride around Africa. Man, I can’t make intros like this. But the statement is true. So, let’s hop on the bike and I’ll explain a bit more. Now, where am I? I am in the northern African nation of Tunisia in a city called Garvis. I don’t know much about it. Here we have the flag. And yeah, I chose the city as the starting point for my journey across Africa. Let’s go. Now, how did I end up here? You know, the last video I was in Afghanistan or was Pakistan. But if you watch the last video, you will notice that I had a bit of an accident there. Watch out of the traffic. Oh, it’s quite busy. Let me get out of the city first and then I’ll explain a bit. Now, if you watched my last video, you will remember that I was in Afghanistan and I crossed into a Pakistan and I didn’t have the best time there because I was a bit sick and I also had that crash, the crash with the car. So and after I arrived in Pbakistan it was also like 40° C and you know that area of the world right now it’s a bit difficult regarding geopolitics you know I wanted to go back to Europe but I would have to go either through Russia or through Iran and I would have preferred to go to Iran but after the recent developments there it was no longer possible to go independently now you can only go with a tour Right. And so that left Russia, but Russia there have been multiple cases of tourists being arrested recently, also like bike travelers. So that was not a great option either. And yeah, that pretty much and the fact that I also hadn’t seen my family in like over a year basically made me decide that I will fly home back to Germany. And in Germany, I spent like a month or so, you know, reconnecting with friends and family. And I also got some upgrades regarding my bike or my camera gear. And yeah, then I had to decide where to go next. And I decided on Africa. And here we are in Tunisia. It is quite nice here. And it looks like we have some fast food over there. I haven’t had breakfast yet, so let’s give it a shot. Angl, you speak English? I’ll take sandwich. Sandwich sandwich. Sandwich. Okay. That’s enough or set up. All right. [Music] Let’s take a break right here under the tree and I’ll explain a bit about the plans for Africa. By the way, this is how my bike looks like now. I made quite a few changes. So, if you’re interested in a gear video, let me know because I got some new stuff like this. This right here is a camping chair. Special one. It’s easy to set up and a lot more comfortable than just sitting on the ground. And now I can have my breakfast like this. Water. You have me for me. Okay. You you can drink. Yeah, of course. You can you can drink his water. Oh, you don’t want I don’t know. Okay. Wait, wait. The struggle with the languages continues. The people here speak both Arabic and French. I don’t really know any Arabic and just a few phrases in French, but not really enough to have a conversation. So, I’ll go to some more French-sp speakaking countries and so I’ll definitely need to improve that and let’s talk about the plans. So, I’m in Tunisia right now and the goal is to make it to South Africa which is going to take me a while and the route that I’m planning to take is across West Africa. So, next I’ll go to Algeria then to Morocco and then through Moritania towards Sagal and then all of West Africa. And over there people also often times speak French. And then I’ll continue towards Cameroon, Angola, and then Namibia and eventually South Africa hopefully. So it’s going to be a long journey. I estimate it’s going to take me at least one and a half years. And yeah, I’ll continue documenting my journey. And I want to of course thank you for the support so far. It’s been overwhelming, honestly. Much better than I imagined it ever to ever be. So yeah, it’s going to be an exciting journey ahead and I can’t wait to get started. The first impression of Tunisia was pretty decent. The people are friendly, the food is good, but one thing is this that I don’t like. There’s quite a lot of trash around everywhere, which is a bit of a shame, honestly. But other than that, I’m enjoying it. So, let’s see what the country has to offer. I made it to the next town, Novel Matal. Let’s see if we can find some water here, cuz it’s still very hot, like 35°. In winter, it would be more manageable. All right. Okay. That market was pretty well stocked. And one of these 2 liter bottles is less than 30 cents, which is a good deal. So, [Music] I just turned onto the smaller road right here. And yeah, there’s not a whole lot going on in the countryside of Tunisia. I believe it’s because it’s the midday heat and most people are indoors and they usually go out when it gets dark, but it’s very peaceful. And we’ve got some hills ahead. Small, but better than nothing. No traffic at all. Love it. I just love places like these rolling hills. Not a single person around. Empty roads. Just me in the middle of nature. What more can you ask for? Let’s have a look at that. There’s a cave there. Let’s have a look. So, what’s interesting about this part of Tunisia is that you have these caves where people still live in nowadays. Of course, not all of them, but in some like this one is abandoned. And I would love to camp in one of those. Oh, wow. Look at this, dude. That is crazy. Wow. It’s really fascinating. So, these are dating back hundreds of years, of course. And nowadays, there’s still some people living in them in in some places, but not here, for example. So, I might as well camp here, right? I mean, I’m going to have nice shade from right now until tomorrow. Essentially, the whole time if I go inside the cave. Yeah. First night in Africa. How about that for a campsite? Let’s go. How sick is that? I believe these houses or like groups of houses are called K S A R. And yeah, they were used by the Berbers, by the adventure, of course, is that it doesn’t get as hot inside there. This video was not meant to be like the first proper travel video, but rather just an update video on where I’ve been and what I’m planning to do, but I think we’re off to a nice start. So, yeah, I’m going to set up I’m going to pick a cave and then set up my tent. All righty. I picked my cave. Unfortunately, in most of them there was quite a bit of trash, but this one isn’t too bad. So, let’s put up the tent. And here we go. Man, how cool is that? First night in Africa. And the sun is starting to set, but there was one more thing I wanted to talk about, but let’s do so while we make a campfire. It’s quite windy. How amazing is that? And yeah, what else I wanted to talk about was charity. You know, ever since I started growing on YouTube and thanks to your guys’ support, I can basically afford to continue traveling this way. And because of that, I thought, why not give something back, give something back to those in need. You know, now that I’m in Africa, there are many of those people who could use some support. I was personally thinking about maybe building a school or something somewhere. And I wanted to hear your guys’ thoughts on that. Maybe you have some ideas or recommendations because I think it would be great to give back a little. You know, I received so much hospitality in all these countries and yeah, with the community, I think we could make something special happen. So, let me know your thoughts. Fire is almost out. Time for some noodles. Okay, before it gets too dark, I’m going to peace out. Thanks for watching. Subscribe if you haven’t, and I’m going to see you tomorrow. See you.

You are a brave man!
Love the idea of giving back, I think the school building concept is really amazing, I think it'd make for great content too…
And maybe even become your channel format mission
What's the thought process on starting in Tunisia and not Egypt?
Next North Korea?
So looking forward to this, Max! Especially excited to see you navigate visas and borders here. I've looked into it and I always get so overwhelmed
Watching your Pakistan ride through and you talk about how nice the people are and they aren't how the media portrays them. They might treat a tourist well but in Europe they're the number 1 offender of sexual assaults.
German accent unfortunately drives me crazy – too German🙈
The land border between Algeria and Morocco is closed and patrolled, with a length of 1,427 km (887 mi) from the Mediterranean Sea to the tripoint with Western Sahara. The closure dates back to 1994 after a terrorist attack in Marrakech, and both governments warn against attempting to cross it due to security concerns and strict monitoring.
Just finished bingeing your videos, you’re unreal biking around in these countries and sleeping in a tent😂 very impressive the best YouTube channel I’ve found in a while
Hi Max, sorry I have just discovered the channel and would like to know more about the bike, what bike is ?
Hey Max…I am a subscriber, and I loved to watch your adventurous journey across Afganistan. The Afgan people are seen to be extremely hospitable. It's a pity that their religious beliefs have distanced them from the civilized world.
Nice knowing you 😂
Please make school in Afghanistan they really need. And thanks to visited my beautiful country Afghanistan. I watched all of your videos when you was in Afghanistan so there was a lot of beautiful places that I saw on your videos
Are you concerned about going through areas where there possibly could be lions?
really curious to see how you are going to cross from Algeria to Morocco, apparently the border is closed, but maybe that is just non sense
Tunisia is a great country, with friendly people, i loved it there.
Congrats on 100k subscribers!
Awaiting the next episode
Be careful dude. Safety first. Wish you a great journey. China is almost always safe – good option.
Great a new adventure on the African continent! Good start finding a cave dwelling for your first night. Looking forward to the journey with you.
Hi Max, I was really sad that your trip through Afghanistan ended as it did, it was such an eye opener to see the lovely country and people in a positive light. However I’m really looking forward to this new adventure. Great first campsite!
Man you are crazy , hope you get to S. Africa safe.
Bro Got extra balls
next country phalestine😂
you about to reach 100k subs – congrats

I do not think all of the African countries will be as safe as Afghanistan was. Nigeria is particularly sketchy.
