So the 2021 Ripmo I was looking at for $1500 was sold out from under me bc the seller can't keep his word.
This bike isn't far from me. It's a 2023 Ibis Ripmo frame build. Is it better than a factory build?
Build specs in the 2nd pic in or the link.

I’d say jump on that. Seems like an amazing build.
Those bikes are super fun, but beware of DVO. I had this same shock on my old bike and blew it up pretty quick. DVO was chill about it and repaired it for free, but I will now forever trust that brand a little less. You could probably get this guy down to 1500 if you made an offer, that seems pretty fair for that bike.
As long as everything looks lightly used it’s a pretty fair price, I’d offer $1500.
I think it’s interesting he built it last year with 2020 and 2021 spec suspension but its way better then the marzhocchi stuff the recent Ripmo afs come with.
I personally wouldn’t
Oh that’s a solid build. I mean like anything I’d try to haggle down a little but Hayes dominions are incredible brakes and the GX drivetrain is solid…hunt makes very good aluminum wheels (I have them on my aggressive hardtail -those exact ones). I don’t know much about DVO so I can’t comment there but I know people love ibis bikes so I’d imagine you’re good there too
That’s a little high, but it’ll probably sell at that price. I wouldn’t say it’s better than factory, it’s just different. Ripmo v2/AF is one of my all time favorites.
That stem is kinda insane, I wouldn’t run a 60mm stem but that’s just me. You can change that pretty cheap though.
It’s about $500 too high. That’s not quite COVID pricing but it’s not far off. Gx is the bare minimum for builds… I barely got $2k for my Ripmo V2 carbon for reference.
I have the same bike, ride it regularly and love it. I did have to replace the shock and it was no longer supported so I had to upgrade to the new shock for a fee. Also replaced the fork at the same time and put an XT drivetrain on it. Anyways, good bike. Maybe a little steep on the price, you should be closer to $1k for that age and spec
I have this exact bike in what I think is very similar to this set up. Bought it from my best friend when he upgraded to a carbon fiber. The bike is great. I’ve never tried to do something with it that it was not capable of handling.. I would love if it was a little bit lighter, but I also could be in better shape so that’s really not on the bike but me 😀
