Somewhat of an unconventional arrival to this build. Purchased an SL 7 Gen 7 (Plasma Gray Pearl) last year, and put around 12,000 miles on it over that year. Absolutely love the Gen 7 Madone, so figured might as well turn it into my dream bike.
Besides the RSL saddle that I bought my SL 7 with, I slowly started upgrading things here and there as deals popped up, or parts wore out and needed replacing. eBay was a gold mine for OEM takeoffs / overstock of the Dura-Ace parts. And FINALLY the last piece of the puzzle popped up a couple weeks ago–found a guy selling an SLR 7 AXS in Axinite Flip without wheels / saddle. Got him talked into just parting with the frame/fork, then had no hesitation driving the 11 hours 😀 Got back home and had this thing built by the next morning for a 12PM ride!
Bike absolutely rips!
