I love bmx bikes. Some people only consider 20” “True BMX bikes” and that’s fine I’m not really interested in getting into that discussion on this thread. What I am interested in the vast selection of self proclaimed BMX bikes with 26” tires. Lots of web sites and bike shops have them for sale. 1-/8” thread-less forks and stems, Chromoly, High Ten and Aluminum frames, sealed bearings, V brakes… I guess what sets them apart is top tube length, geo and personal preferences. I’ve seen rankings on 20” and 24” and even 29”s. But I’d love to see riders rankings on the 26ers. I have several bikes and I have a soft spot for the 26”. Best reason I can think of is I’m Turing 50. 6’2” and have had my quad tendon repaired in a grueling surgery and about a year of rehab. I love to ride, my son races and park rides he’s pretty good and Ive raced a few times but would not identify myself as anything more than a novice who loves to get out and ride. I go to the BMX track practices with my family and ride my redline pl 26 and or SQB 26 on the track. I enjoy them both for different reasons. But I’d love to see a more extensive breakdown from people who know more than I do.
Fit, Stolen, Cult, Haro, Redline, Kink, Stranger, Bassett, DK, GT, Monza, & SE, I’m sure I’m leaving a lot out. How do that stack up against each other?
