if I were to bend this back would it be ok? I am guessing yes because only the part that holds the shifter is bent so I am thinking the structural integrity wasn’t affected….

Steel is very forgiving. Note there appears that the origin shape has a bend in it, which don’t want to take out. Dropout looks thin. Try to bend once. Use large crescent wrench near the bend. These get bent easily and bending back is common.

In looking again at photo two, it looks repaired (welded). How might that impact you? Don’t know.
