CRO Race 2025 – Stage 6 Highlights – Heavy rain causes chaos in Croatia

Les coureurs de la Cro Race avaient droit ce dimanche à leur dernier jour de course en Croatie avec une météo loin d’être idéale. Vainqueur de l’édition 2024, Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates XRG) était dans une position idéale pour remporter une nouvelle fois le classement général, puisqu’il portait le maillot de leader avant le départ de cette 6e étape. Et sur une étape de plaine sans difficulté notable à signaler, rien n’a pu inquiéter l’Américain qui enchaîne après son succès sur le Tour du Luxembourg il y a quelques jours. Mais la surprise est venue du vainqueur de cette 6e étape puisque, annoncé comme archi favori, Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step) s’est contenté de la seconde place, battu par l’Israélien Oded Kogut (Israel Premier-Tech) qui s’offre son deuxième succès en l’espace de neuf jours, après sa victoire sur le Gooikse Pijl.

You had your first professional victory here in Croatia exactly one year ago. How does it feel to win again here? Thank you. Wow. Yeah, it feels amazing. Um I had another victory two weeks ago, more or less, and now doing the second for my season here again. Um, yeah, of course. Make me love this city and this country a lot. And you had a great season. Uh, what are the plans for for the future? Uh, of course, getting better and better, winning some uh bigger races with the team. And yeah, just making it to the maybe winning to the front stage one day. And so we can expect you here for the stage six next year. Yeah, I hope so. I really enjoy this race and I hope to come again next year. Thank you very much. Thank you. Congress Brandon, you’re victorious here in Croatia for second year in a row. Can you talk us through this year’s race? Yeah, we knew the Yeah, the most important day was stage uh four with this hard climb. So, we knew we just had to stay safe and then yeah, take take time there. And then the last two days was again just making it through. And then yeah, today was kind of bit miserable, but in the end it was okay. So, it was nice to win. You had a great season and what are the key objectives for the next season? Well, I haven’t even thought about this yet. Now, just time to rest and then I’ll think about this maybe in December. And which memories will you carry from Croatia? Ah, maybe this super steep climb. It was uh it was really hard, but it was also nice to to go solo there. So, it was a good memory. Can we maybe expect you here for a vacation? We’ll see. It’s uh I guess the rest of the week was really nice. Not like today if it’s if it’s raining, but when it’s nice and sunny, it’s a beautiful place. Thank you very much, man. Thank you.
