Day 219. 17km (91,267kms 8yrs)
Without much planned today except crossing the border and checking out Slavinski Brod we (Olivier) got up late, taking our time over breakfast and a second coffee. We have very different daily timetables which is taking some resolving.
Last of our Bosnian Marks spent back at the Kort supermarket, we crossed the border into Schengen Europe. The stamp I insisted on receiving being placed centrally on a blank page of an otherwise quite full passport.
In Croatia we rode about a park of retired locomotives, and through an old fort before getting separated when I spotted an interesting looking water pump.
10 (flat!) kilometres out of town we turned into a stretch of forest and were quickly attacked by clouds of mosquitos. We found a nice camp, Olivier making a smokey fire to deter our enemies.

getting to Croatia today. Cheers to that. Have to start counting my shenhen days. Make sure that I leave in good time. I was starting to wonder if we would cross to Croatia one of these days or not at all because one of these days. I have weird dreams and now I remember about my old flat. So that might have be like Yeah. to the supermarket, spend the last of my mark and then cross into Shenhen Europe. This is our preferred chain of Bosnian supermarkets cuz they have good Wi-Fi and plug sockets and they don’t mind you eating supermarket food in the cafe. What did you get? Tell me about the cup of coffee. I have a little bit of this uh giris penc should be earrings or sardine. Little sardine with the good mayonnaise. Uhhuh. Then we have more of the pastry. The fish is fish. I’ll share the beer, but I’m not sharing that. I saw yours. Passport ready. There’s my Sieo stamp. Valy, no. No stamp. Look at that. Ah, yeah. I should have said this to the other borders. Voila. So, that was Bosnia. I liked it very much. And now we’re in sort of no man’s land as we cross the river and then hopefully get stopped into Shenen. not even arrived yet. And I’ve already seen signs for IKEA, for Mackers. I have enjoyed not seeing those things in Bosnia. I do believe there was like one or two mackers in Burger King, but I never laid eyes on one. And back into European Union, if only for 90 days max. Thanks, Brexit. That’s one. Thank you. Cheers. Cheers. Tastes like bureaucracy. Oh. Nice turn. Where’s this bike lane going? No. Yeah, as long as Yeah, it’s the right way around. Look, I can stand on the left and push the bike on the right. No. Thanks. I definitely did most of the pushing there. Yeah. Oh no, park is over. We were paying three mark. Now we’re paying €3 a bottle, which is twice perfect. [Applause] She speech. Cheers. Cheers. I’ve got um a tree trunk to sit on today. Ollie’s in his chair with my mesh. Yeah. Oh, the mozzies were bad, hence the fire and they’re still bad. Uh anyway, cheers to Croatia. Yep. Excellent work, Chef. Thank you very much. Done.
